I hope you engage this site because you realize leadership is less about birthed ability and more about the development of your leadership capacity. Leadership capacity is grown by developing relevant aspects of yourself, gaining new ability to see organizations with more nuance, and honing on-the-ground skills for being effective in your specific role.
There are two things you can do to help me in my mission to help leaders learn and grow. The first is to seriously engage this site and ask questions in the discussion forums or by contacting me directly. Your questions and comments are the basis out of which future posts are created.
The second is by subscribing to the site. We will never misuse your email address, but by signing up you will receive some special subscriber only content from us along with never being late to a great discussion on a new post.
I have been in your shoes. I have been new in leadership roles with significant implications if I didn’t succeed. I know how it feels to wake up in the middle of the night in a cold sweat with the terror of "what if I fail?” So, on the human level, I get your pain. I hope I might be of service to you. I hold a BS in Engineering, an MA in Transformational Leadership, and a PhD in Religious Studies where I focused on how social reality is constructed. This background has provided me with insight into how groupings of people find meaning in their everyday world.
I merge ideas and practice. This translates into giving you a merger of the best thoughts and practices which are grounded in best practices pertaining to leadership, management and organizational studies.
Personally I enjoy learning, my family, the outdoors, and animals (particularly dogs and horses). I grew up on a farm in rural Colorado but have spent most of my adult life in major cities.
